Spring is ALMOST here and, in addition to spring cleaning, it is also a good time to carry out your spring maintenance and check your RV’s systems – preventive maintenance on your RV are investments that are sure to bring you happiness in the long run!

No matter what type of RV you have, the following should be checked regularly:

• Check battery fluid and fill with distilled water to measure storage value.

• Clean battery corrosion and use anti-corrosion chemicals – corrosion compound.

• Check whether the 12 VDC converter is working properly.

• Check the proper operation and installation of the 120 VAC inverter/charger.

• Check and fill the hydraulic oil tank.

• Check safety equipment and code date: fire extinguisher, LPG alarm, smoke alarm, CO2 alarm and speed window.

• Check LPG pressure and adjust to 11 inches of water. Specifications

• Check DOT cylinder certification date, DOT mounting bracket and auto conversion function.

• Verify that the auto-leveling process works properly in both auto-leveling and driving modes.

• Check the sliding partition for extension and retraction. Check wipers and “D” seals.

• Check the roof waterproofing membrane and sealant. Check that the ventilation holes and antenna are working properly.

• Check the wiring – Check the shore wiring, tighten the screws on the breaker panel, check the fuses, and test the GFCI.

• Check new plumbing – pumps, use pumps, measure water flow, exercise in bathroom. Add a flush toilet to the bathroom.

• Water meter operation – AC and LPG/gas operation, pressure operation and temperature.

• Clean the water heater from the dirt in the tank and reconnect the pipes.

• Check air conditioning – Check evaporator and condenser coils, check radiator, check ducts, tighten screws.

• Check Refrigerator – Tested operation with LPG and 120VAC.

• Check whether the oven and stove/oven are working properly.

• Tighten the cabinet/drawer, check the door latches and locks. Test curtains and blinds.

• Operate the awning (manual/electric) and set up camp. Retract driving mode. Inspect all accessories, fittings, latches, handles and fabric.
